We've seen multiple vets since bringing our dog to the District Vet and have nothing but good things to say. Everyone from the front desk staff to... the techs to the vets has been warm, welcoming, and professional. Our dog recently suffered a traumatic injury, and the clinic was able to see her within minutes of us calling in. They were waiting by the front door when we pulled up and had a stretcher ready to move her comfortably to the triage room. Dr. Hassell treated her and provided clear and detailed information on how she was doing, options for treatment, and a referral to an excellent surgical vet. We cannot recommend this clinic enough. They helped get us through a very frightening, uncertain day. For that, we're deeply grateful.read more

Here to piggyback off of my boyfriends review for our beloved furbaby, Elliot. Elliot's cancer diagnosis was the worst news of my life. To say I was... riddled with fear, confusion, hurt, anger, all of the worst emotions imaginable, is an understatement. Reece and I spent hours upon hours sorting through various hospitals to take on our Elliot's case, knowing we were placing his life in their hands and praying they would treat him like their own. We needed a vet that would respect our approach to keeping him happy and healthy holistically first, and only providing the best care if we decided on surgery. I was unable to make the appointment but I made one rule clear: at this appointment, if any staff member were to make Reece, Elliot, his case or our concerns feel like a transaction or inconvenience, they both were to leave and we would keep searching for care until we found the best fit. We were not wasting time on any place or people who instilled anything in us other than compassion, patience, and trust. I spent those couple hours that they were gone scared and anxious, not knowing what was to come next.Reece's text about how the appointment went dissipated nearly all of my worries and he came home with absolutely glowing reviews about everyone he encountered from Mindy and Anastasia at the front desk, to Anthony the tech (who approached our reactive boy with confidence and trust), and Dr. Hassel, who took the time to review my lengthy sheets of concerns, questions, and even reviewed a detailed diet change I laid out for Elliot. All of this to say thank you. I am relieved to know we found humans for our angel and his diagnosis that we can trust. This has been an extremely terrifying time for us, but Dr. Hassle's reassurance that Elliot will do great has been a massive ease. Thank you for treating our boy with love, compassion, and care. There is nothing we wouldn't do for him and would not place him in the care of a facility that we wouldn't trust to do the same.read more
After our dog, Elliot, was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumour, my girlfriend and I were really worried and looked up lots of different vets by... reviews. I am so glad we (finally) decided on District Brookland. After what was a worrying few days waiting for the appointment, to be greeted at the door by Anastasia and Mindy with a smile, we instantly felt welcome. They had a room already prepared for us despite being 30 mins early. Anthony, the tech, was also fantastic and was really confident with our pitbull, despite knowing he can be reactive. This made life so much easier as our dog was then calm, despite the situation. The cherry on the already great cake was Dr Hassell, again great with our dog and took every one of my 101 questions in his stride. He is a highly intelligent, patient and capable vet (and therapist after calming all my nerves!), who I have full faith in when it comes to the upcoming surgery. I just want to thank all of the team for turning what was a horrible few days into a much more tolerable situation for us. Thank you from us and our Stink!read more
We started taking our cat, Bling, to District Vet when we moved to Brookland about two years ago and every time we go, we are met with kindness,... generosity of time and resources, and seemingly endless understanding by all the staff and doctors here. Dr. Makhijani especially is so selfless and compassionate. When it was time to say goodbye to Bling, Dr. Makhijani was honest and clear in her assessment and helped us through every step of the process. We were so blessed to have her there not just as a doctor, but also as a warm and comforting presence.When we're ready to welcome another kitty into our house, we have no question about who we'll trust with their care. I love love love District Veterinary hospital! They have the loveliest staff - vets, technicians, front desk - everyone. They're easy to book with,... partly because I have had such a great experience with each of the veterinarians I have interacted with, so I am happy to take the first available appointment instead of having to work around one doctor's schedule. I've taken multiple pets there over the past decade and highly recommend them to anyone. My husband and I were devastated when we had to put our dog down two years ago, and the staff were honestly perfect. Even in the moment (between tears) we were still like, "wow, everyone here is doing an amazing job with this." Huge gratitude to the entire team!read more

The staff and vets are incredibly caring. One of our cats has chronic health issues and the doctors took the time to talk through medical options and... left the treatment decisions up to us. I greatly appreciate not being pressured to feeling like I needed to go with expensive testing that isn't guaranteed to provide an answer.read more
